Time... such a precious factor in life

...Finally all the tests are in and today I've resume to my GEM*Chemo. My white cell count is acceptable but they had to reduce the dosage by yet another 10%. If this goes on, they might only give me saline water (lol - still have a sense of humor).

Today I met a fellow whom had the Distal Pancreatectomy similar to what I had. They (the couple) reminded me of how Sylvie and I felt with my initial diagnostic, full of questions with unanswered piece of a huge puzzle. This sort of re-affirmed me of how good I am in my 8Th months after surgery and how much I have learned about this ugly cancer (all things considered). I certainly wish them the best.

So after meeting with my oncologist on Monday, I found out I cannot get my arthroscopic surgery for my knee until all my treatments are done.

I'm now on Wellbutrin (same as Zieban) to help me kick the smoking habit. Hopefully this works.

Your body always have a story to tell...

...So guess what - They did not want to give me my treatment again as my white cell count was too low (.8). Although the oncologist is cutting back the potency by 10%, my body does not want to assimilate to it yet. I'm seeing him in two weeks to elaborate on the quality of my treatment.

At this point, I have not received a full gambit of treatments so I don't even know my peaks and valleys just yet. If I require 4 months of this GEM*Chemo, this would bring me to July/August.

The diabetes has caught me by surprise on several occasions with a low. I NEED SUGAR. Isn't this an oxymoron.

Now with my new glasses, I can see my friend (monitor that is) a little better.

Where I'm at...

...Well folks, I have had another treatment last Friday and I'm holding pretty good. This week's treatment (if I get it) will be the first piggy back time. I'm not exactly looking forward to it but it is essential to my recovery fighting this ugly cancer.

You probably noticed the top bar where you can now view videos about this cancer. If it is the same as you last viewed, just click refresh on your screen and you will get another series of videos.

The question of the week is there for you to sorta log in... meaning that if you answer, then I know how many of you read my blog. It is good for me to see high numbers there.

I sleep better and the diabetes is still under control.

The cigarettes however are not under control and I am considering acupuncture or laser. This &*(%#)) habit has got to stop at some point.
